The SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival is postponed from June 2020 to 14.10. until 18.10.2020.

The epidemic spread of COVID-19, the "corona virus", leads to drastic but necessary restrictions - this also applies to SILBERSALZ. After consultation with our initiators and partners we have decided to postpone SILBERSALZ 2020.

In view of the current exceptional situation, the health of our visitors*, speakers* and the team and a containment of the infection is our top priority. The public program in the city of Halle (Saale), the conference in the Leopoldina - National Academy of Sciences and the SILBERSALZ Science & Media Award in association with Jackson Wild will therefore take place in October 2020.

Our hope remains to be able to offer a preview of the festival in October and a science-communication platform for current topics in Halle (Saale) at the original date of 25.6. to 28.6.2020 with a reduced exhibition and lecture programme. We are in close contact with the relevant partners, institutions and the city of Halle.

"We would like to thank our partners for their backup and support in these turbulent times. We now look forward to four fantastic days in autumn," says Donata von Perfall, Director Documentary Campus / SILBERSALZ Festival. "The current situation shows all the more how important good science communication is. This is the heart of SILBERSALZ and its diverse interactive formats. We see it as a reaffirmation of our mission to strengthen good science communication. SILBERSALZ as an interface between the public and science plays a central role in this respect".
