Urgent travel information for arriving experts* and guests from COVID 19 risk areas

Travel to Halle from a risk area within Germany is still possible. For the overnight stay in a hotel, etc. a negative PCR test, which is not older than 48 hours, should be at hand. There is also the possibility to be tested directly on site.

For this purpose the fever ambulance in the Schopenhauerstraße in 06114 Halle (Saale) is provided. You will find it on the parking lot of the local employment office. The fever ambulance is open from Mon-Sun from 09:00 - 13:00 o'clock. Test results are usually available that same day.

People travelling for the day are excluded from this regulation.

As far as entry from risk areas within the EU and further abroad is concerned, entry is only allowed with a negative test - which should not be older than 48 hours. In addition you must contact the Halle Health Authority at corona@halle.de immediately and present the negative test result there.

The airport is conveniently connected to the city via train. With the S5 or S5X lines of the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland you can go directly to the Leipzig / Halle Airport (for example from Halle, Leipzig, Altenburg and Zwickau). Travel time from the main station Halle: 10min.

Getting here by train

The city is connected to the ICE (Inter City Express), operated by Deutsche Bahn. Direct connections: from Frankfurt a.M. (travel duration: 3 h) every two hours; from Berlin (travel duration: 1 h) and Munich (travel duration; 2.45 h) every two hours.
