Why do banks keep going bust - and what can we do about it?

Although the banking system has been more strictly regulated since the financial crisis of 2007/2008, banks in the U.S. as well as in Switzerland have recently run into difficulties. What does this mean for the safety of our deposits and for the effectiveness of new regulations of the banking system? Visitors can talk to economists Melina Ludolph and Lena Tonzer about questions relating to the stability and functioning of financial markets, as well as individual questions.

ABOUT „RENT A SCIENTIST“
Just imagine, scientists are visiting you in your everyday environment – and not the other way around. They may not jump out of the cake, but they will bring a colorful bouquet of exciting knowledge with them.
"Rent a Scientist" is an invitation to exchange ideas - about research and the world - in a familiar environment.
The format was developed in close cooperation with the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft and Themenjahren der Stadt Halle.
