This year SILBERSALZ is under the motto "Home Earth". Within the framework of a multifaceted lecture program, renowned experts from science, research, and economics will speak on 19 June 2020 about the state of the planet and our common future.

SILBERSALZ brings the earth to Halle! From 18.6. to 21.6.2020 we let Luke Jerram's fascinating earth installation "Gaia" float in the middle of the St. Ulrich Church. It impressively shows, what this year's festival motto is all about: the beauty and diversity of our planet. Within the framework of a diverse lecture program, renowned experts* from science, research, and economics will speak on 19 June 2020 about the state of home earth and our common future.

In our third edition, we invite you to take part in current debates around nature, biodiversity, climate protection and sustainable future. From 25th to 28th of June, a selection of films, artworks, live performances, and workshops will be focusing on Homeland Earth - "Heimat Erde" – from present to its future [...]

The youth program "SILBERSALZ by Youth" offers in the run-up to the festival an open place for experiments and encounters for new paths to science and the future.

The SILBERSALZ Science & Media Pitch is now accepting submissions from all scientists, science journalists and media professionals that want to develop their science project ideas into factual series, documentary one-offs, and interactive, immersive experiences. We're interested in contemporary global stories about discoveries and innovations across all technological and scientific disciplines.

Free pre-registrations for the SILBERSALZ school programme possible until 15 December 2019: School cinema, individual guided tours through the SILBERSALZ exhibitions and discussion rounds with researchers* - open to all regional schools.

Many thanks for all your submissions! We will get back to all participants by May 24th 2020. The call was open to films representing all scientific disciplines, research areas or concepts, tackling issues across all subgenres: science, natural history, history, geopolitics, investigative journalism, impact stories.
