"When I became a photographer, I wanted to celebrate the beauty of nature," says filmmaker James Balog. "But I soon realized that the relationship between man and nature is much more complex." Balog feels obliged to show what this means, even if the images are frightening: Floods that reach up to the roofs, hectares of burning forest and tornadoes that devastate everything.
