Dr. André Lampe, grown up in East-Westfalia, is a paramedic and poetry & science slammer. After studying physics in Bielefeld, he completed his doctorate from 2011-2016 at Freie Universität Berlin in biochemistry on the topic of High Resolution Microscopy. While working on his doctor thesis he began moderating on stage and trade fairs as well as in front of the cameras of YouTube, ZDF and ServusTV, where he hosted the show TM Wissen. He is a strong supporter of science communication and is involved in the Siggener Kreis and part of the editorial staff of Leitlinien für gute Wissenschafts-PR. He is blogging about microscopes for scienceblogs,de and creates guerilla-scicomm about oceans and seas with the project Plötzlich Wissen! – additionally, he produces the podcasts Wirkstoffradio and Mal ganz grundsätzlich. He hosts workshops about Microscopy for Beginners and is a lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin.
