Alexa Weik von Mossner is a writer and ecocritical cultural studies scholar. After working for several years in the German film and television industry, she earned her PhD in Literature at the University of California, San Diego. She is currently appointed as Associate Professor of American Studies at the University of Klagenfurt. In her research, she explores contemporary environmental culture from a cognitive perspective with a focus on affect and emotion. Her publications include Cosmopolitan Minds: Literature, Emotion, and the Transnational Imagination (U of Texas Press 2014) and Affective Ecologies: Empathy, Emotion, and Environmental Narrative (Ohio State UP 2017). Her work has also appeared in journals such as Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment, Environmental Humanities, Environmental Communication, and Green Letters.
