Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Rößler

Research Associate, Research Area Transformative Capacities Interdisciplinary Center for Transformative Urban Studies (IZS), Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IÖR)

After studying landscape architecture at the TU Dresden, she has been a research associate at the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Urban and Regional Development, Dresden (IÖR) since 2003. In 2009, she completed her doctorate at the TU Dresden, Faculty of Architecture. The dissertation focused on open space planning in urban redevelopment and was supported by a doctoral scholarship from the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt.
Her research focuses on formal and informal instruments of urban and open space planning for sustainable urban development and urban renewal, open spaces and demographic change, and open space planning adaptation strategies to the consequences of climate change.
Stefanie Rößler is project manager and senior researcher at the "Interdisciplinary Center for Transformative Urban Redevelopment" (IZS) in the research area "Transformative Capacities" of the IOER. Since 2013, she has been a lecturer in the Master "Spatial Development and Natural Resource Management" at the TU Dresden. Stefanie Rößler is a member of the SRL (Vereinigung für Stadt- Regional und Landesplanung e. V.) and a member of the Urban Development Working Group of the Saxon Academy of Sciences.
