Mohamed El Aboudi, was born in 1961 in Morocco, and graduated from Bond University, Australia with the degree of Master of Film and Television. He currently resides in Finland, and was awarded in 2006 as the best and most experienced documentary director by the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE in connection with the 10th anniversary of its multicultural services. His latest long documentary, SCHOOL OF HOPE (2020) had its world premiere at HotDocs festival in Toronto, where it received the Special Jury Prize. The film has also received several other prizes, including Bronze Award, Best Film of Human Rights at Millennium Documentary Film Festival in Brussels, and SOS Children’s Villages Prize at DokFest in Munich and Special price at Tampere Film Festival. Other works of Mr El Aboudi include DANCE OF OUTLAWS (premiere 2012 at Locarno International Film Festival; prize Premio Zonta Club Locarno; Human Rights Award at DokuFest in Kosovo; Grand Prix of Mediterranean Issues at Primed in Marseille; the highest State Quality Award for Documentary and Fiction in Finland in 2013), long documentaries Fight of Fate (2009) and Netizen Mo (2015).
