SILBERSALZ Festival in the Zoo – "Ecological Beekeeping"

Ecological beekeeping is attuned to the natural needs and requirements of the bee colony. It results from the cognition that a bee colony and its honeycombs are an organism. Beekeeping – not (only) for the honey – is what beekeeping operations propagate that are less driven by maximising honey production and instead focus on having the beekeeping in harmony with the needs of the bees themselves. The beekeeper Max Baumann with his Immenwohl beekeeping business is the leading local expert in ecological beekeeping. During his apiculturist event, the participants will learn many interesting aspects about the character and social structure of a bee colony and how to gain honey without exploiting the beehives. Before and after the event, Max Baumann is available at his information stand to answer each and every question about ecological beekeeping.
