✨ SILBERSALZ 2026 – Science that moves us ✨

From 28 October to 1 November 2026, SILBERSALZ brought science, media and art together at 15 venues across Halle (Saale). Under the motto “Ich, verbesserlich?”, more than 100 events invited audiences to explore health, the human body and the medicine of the future from new perspectives.

The Xenos Festival Centre was a lively meeting place, with media partners ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandfunk hosting their own stands, while the XR Empathy Village and the Short Film Club offered opportunities for discovery. The ME/CFS panel, “Quarks Daily live” and “Tattoo – provocatively beautiful?” attracted particular interest. Lawrence Malstaf’s performance “SHRINK 01995” captivated audiences at the Ulrichskirche. “Ask Me Anything” with Ralph Caspers, the two PUR+ shows and the Science Market at the Saline Museum brought science to life for children and families.

SILBERSALZ is a collective effort. The dedication of our audiences, contributors and many partners made encounters possible that will resonate beyond the festival. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved!

We look forward to celebrating our tenth anniversary edition in 2027!
The dates will be announced following consultation with our partners and the City of Halle (Saale).

✨ SILBERSALZ 2026 – Ich, verbesserlich? ✨

The 9th SILBERSALZ Science & Media Festival is coming to Halle (Saale)!

From October 28 to November 1, 2026, SILBERSALZ will once again bring science, media, art,
and society together for five days of films, exhibitions, talks, immersive experiences, and live events across the city.

Under this year’s motto “Ich, verbesserlich?”, the festival explores health in all its dimensions
– from physical and mental well-being, prevention, fitness, and sleep to longevity,
medical innovation, and our growing drive to optimize ourselves.

How much can – and should – we improve ourselves?
How can science and technology help us live healthier lives?
And where should we draw the line between improvement and optimization?

SILBERSALZ invites everyone to explore, experience, discuss, and question
– bringing science closer to everyday life and creating space for new perspectives.
