Jan Oliver Löfken writes for numerous German print media outlets on science and technology, focusing on energy, physics, chemistry, geosciences, and basic research.
After studying physics and geophysics and conducting research at the Helmholtz Center Desy, he focused on journalism, working as a science editor for Die Welt and the Financial Times Deutschland and founding the news agency for science, medicine, and technology – Wissenschaft aktuell – with colleagues.
In parallel, he is a freelance author for Technology Review, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Neue Energie, Spiegel Online, Golem, and Tagesspiegel, among others. He has received several awards for his writing (including the German Journalism Prize, Earth Journalism Award, and Reporter Slam).
