Dr. Imke Hoppe

Imke Hoppe completed her doctorate at the Technical University of Ilmenau on the topic of digital communication and climate change. Previously, she was deputy head of department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (IDMT) and was responsible, among other things, for the requirements analysis of digital media from the user's perspective (especially children and young people). As a PostDoc, Imke Hoppe researched and taught in the Cluster of Excellence CliSAP ("Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction"), the DFG Priority Program SPP 1409 "Science and the Public Sphere", and at the Chair of Journalism and Communication Studies at the University of Hamburg.

Currently, Imke Hoppe is working at DLR (German Aerospace Center) in an interdisciplinary research team on the topic of mobility transition and autonomous transport concepts for rural regions. Imke Hoppe's research interests lie in the field of climate and sustainability communication from the perspective of media use and media effects research.
