Playfully Exploring the Human Body: Homo Machina

"Homo Machina" is a 2D exploration game inspired by the iconic medical illustrations of Fritz Kahn. Rather than presenting the body through traditional anatomy, it offers a surprising perspective: the human organism becomes a vast mechanical factory, where countless tiny workers keep every function running.

With its finely crafted animations, distinctive sound design, and clear, intuitive gameplay, the game invites players to take control of key processes and discover, step by step, how the body works. In an engaging and accessible way, "Homo Machina" shows that science doesn’t have to be complex - it can be playful and fun.

Its presentation at the German Federal Government’s Open Day 2026 highlights the creative intersection of science and interactive media that defines the SILBERSALZ Festival.
