Boat tour around Blue Bioeconomy with Germany's 1st citizen research boat "Make Science Halle".

Boarding: Mansfelderstraße 56 (Behind the Central German Multimedia Center) 6 p.m.

Offboarding: Saalepromenade, pier 5 (Below Burg Giebichenstein) 7:30 p.m.

The Make Science Halle, the ship for citizen scientists*, goes into the exciting depths of the "Blue Bioeconomy". Where once passengers leisurely sailed across the river, now people are tinkering and experimenting. The Make Science Hall is operated by science2public - Gesellschaft für Wissenschaftskommunikation and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the current Science Year "Bioeconomy". Supporters of the project as part of the "Blue Ribbon of Science" network are Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Merseburg University of Applied Sciences.

We don't just experiment in the lab, but also in the galley. Because in our participatory kitchen, algae is the main ingredient on the menu. Our participants bake cookies and bread from it. Specially filtered water from the river is turned into refreshing lemonade, and fish leather is made into fashionable accessories and eye-catchers in the sewing studio. The citizen researchers will also learn more about the sustainable use of biological resources in digital games, and an open-air cinema on the upper deck invites visitors to a special kind of film experience.
